Elected President of FIDE Zone 1.4
At the Congress of the International Chess Federation in Samarkand I was elected President of FIDE Zone 1.4 for the 2026–2030 term. All six member federations supported my candidacy unanimously.
At the Congress of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, I was elected President of FIDE Zone 1.4 on 25 September 2026 for the 2026–2030 term. I am the first Slovak to hold this position.
The zone consists of six national federations: Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. All of them supported my candidacy unanimously.
It is recognition of the work of the Slovak Chess Federation and also a commitment. I want to use international contacts for chess in Slovakia and across the zone – for tournaments, coaches and young players.
